House Party
Finally, after 4 years of school, and 6 years of hard work, the idea of a house is looming large and possible w/in the near future. Spouse and I have negotiated a contract for a 2500 sq. ft. house w/ 4 br, 2.5 baths, brand new hot-tub, and an outdoor kitchen with no neighbors behind us in the exclusive community of ______ in Houston for just under $155 K. Everything is ready, we're just waiting on the IRS check to go ahead with the mortgage. We're excited of course, but also, I am very tired. We've been renting for the past 6 years since I've been out of the Army, and it would be nice to actually stop throwing away money every month and feel a sense of 'home' instead a temporary dwelling. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for what the Lord has put in our lives, but I'm ready. Getting home from the hospital, soaking in the hot tub, sipping on some Barq's, listening to the soothing tunes of Al Jourgensen...Sorry, Islamists, you thought you had me, but Hah, I be a smart cracka-Christian honkey Great White Satan...Oh yeah, there is no Palestine. Jordan is Palestine. Egypt is Palestine. Your parents are actually Jewish, Islamists!

So, is my view of middle eastern radicals as [bloodthirsty insecure morons using a 'religion' as an excuse to usurp power over all] a stereotype? I am neither overweight or wealthy enough to own an Escalade, I have no shotgun except for what God blessed me with (wink, wink), and I am under 35 (not much younger).
I don't think this conflict is one of stereotypes. I remember the Iranian hostage crisis in the seventies. This is the 'Revolution' Amehdinajab(sp?) talks about so pleasantly. Arafat has been in my mind as long as I can remember. It took September 11 to put the dots together, so to speak: The U.S.S. Cole, the embassy bombings in '98 (I was stationed in Kuwait when that happened and I was sure we were going to Africa), the '93 World Trade Center bombing, the Beirut bombing that killed many U.S. troops, and that's just all I can remember off the top of my head. There is evidently a clear pattern established here. The common denominator is Islam. Now, I am not saying all Muslims are bad, just the active Muslims. Islam is a religion of power, of control. On its basest level, this war is one based on liberty versus slavery. What is the difference of Communism, defined by Marx, and Islam? As I understand it, they are both the same but have different foundations. Communism is based on biology (we are mere organisms) and Islam is based on religion. But their goals are the same. Absolute power.
As for the apologists in the States, I see it three ways. 1, they're ignorant; 2, they're involved in this for their own advancement in power (politics); 3, the States' Judeo-Christian influence tends to push people to see the good in all people (this can be a subconcious tendency).
As for your evaluation of the future, I would not state it any other way.
